With recent changes to PBA rules regarding traditional urethane, Hammer took on the challenge of producing a ball that would mimic the performance attributes of the famous Purple Pearl Urethane Hammer without using urethane… and we nailed it. The NU Blue Hammer is “not urethane” but delivers a urethane ball motion. It is versatile, smooth, consistent, and predictable, making it ideal for challenging lane conditions. Bowlers will experience all the advantages of a reactive ball that can be used in any competition while benefiting from the classic Purple Pearl Urethane ball motion that has dominated the lanes for years.

    NU for all you can do

    Love this ball. This ball is my go to for short patterns, patterns I have to play a very tight line, burnt out house shots, corner spares and for when everything on the lanes goes to 5h!t and I need a guaranteed line of 12 to 9 into the pocket. Goes with me everywhere.

    Control, Control, and more Control. That’s what I feel about the NU Blue Hammer. With a fresh cover, the ball hooks quite a bit and is very smooth overall. When you need to control the downlane motion, but get the ball to read early, but are NOT comfortable using urethane, this is a great go-to ball. The cover does shine pretty quick, so it is suggested to keep the cover clean and scuff the surface when needed. If you have a bit of side tilt, you can definitely swing the lane a bit, but you’ll likely use this to keep your angles closed.

    This is the best ball for house shot I have ever thrown as a new 2 hander. This ball makes me look like a professional especially when the bowling alley I bowl at has a house shot that's 5 boards different every day at the start of warmup. I am a big motiv bowler with 20 motiv bowling balls and I would trade them all in for a NU BAD ASS BLUE HAMMER 5 ball arsenal that's how much that ball make me look good. When I throw the NU i feel like packy hanahan feels when he throws the purple hammer absolutely awesome. 2handed lefty, 540 rpms, 16.5 mph. 2x6x5 2ls on 15lb Nu hammer with 5,000 surface. 6,500 Polish made the NU too angular and it mimicked the motiv thrills. I will have 1 with polish for sure if I had a NU hammer 5 ball arsenal.
