I picked my Effect up this weekend. I kept the pin up neutral demo layout rather than going to 60 x 5 x 20 or 65 x 4.5 x 35 because of how well it rolled during the ball demo I tried it at.
So far this is making the Effect very controllable and predictable. The biggest thing I've noticed after 8 games is don't slow it down too much. I have to use the same speed with the Effect swinging from 28 over 15 as I do using my Sensor Solid or Deadly Rattler going 18 over 9 or 23 over 12. The Effect is a full zone stronger with the same speed and release.
After my challenge league tonight, in which I was very inconsistent, we did 2 winner take call cash games. On a different, freshly oiled pattern. I was low man game 1, spent that game figuring out should I be left or right, max rev, low rev, etc. I ended up 20 over 10 with an easy release with medium to high revs and maybe 40 degrees rotation. Shot 266 gm2, and the 2 missed shots were purely my fault (like missing the head pin left once). The Effect was stellar, bailed me out on 2 shots, and the continuation thru the deck? What can I say other than the others were making comments about it. The worst deflection I can recall was off the deck about the 17 board. Most were between 20 and 25.
I see why so many are already calling this the ball of the year. I foresee the Huntsman core having the kind of reverence the Gas Mask has attained. You will want to experience this ball for yourself, it's that damned good.

Hammer Effect, Ball 1: 75x4x40. Long and Strong. I haven’t used this layout on a new ball in over a year. I’m glad I did! The Hammer Effect was worth the wait! I drilled this before leaving for Vegas for a 60-70 age group invitational at The Orleans and then 3 days of bowling in the Senior High Roller at the Gold Coast. I used the Effect for 24 out of 27 games over 5 days!!! Long, short and medium patterns and carry was awesome! The citrus smell is a sweet surprise too!
Great angular ball off the spot. For ME this remind me a lot of the first Blood but with WAYYY more pop. Ball takes surface change very well in can be that versatile ball that's very dependable.I suggest putting your favorite or most proven drilling into this ball. Strong motion but very controllable. For the crackers have fun opening up the lane EARLY!
I have thrown the Effect on three different patterns, and I am loving this ball. Threw it on a house shot. I could miss left and not have the weak 10 or ring 10, when the ball never really picks up. This ball picks up! I also threw it on the 45’ Dick Weber and 43’ Earl Anthony. I get a great motion on both. I didn’t expect the motion I got on the Anthony. I am very impressed. Clean but not super skip-flip, just a good strong motion. Averaged over 230 on the Weber the first time I used the Effect in competition.
The Hammer Effect is a turning heads and pumping out high scores everywhere. The colors, reaction, hitting power and versatility makes this a must have for bowlers of all calibers. From novice to serious players. This piece will not disappoint. It brings back memories for me of the old Hot Sauce. Don't miss out!!! Get yours now!
